Do you want to get high?

Did you know that essential oils like Cedarwood, Myrrh and Sandalwood are high in sesquiterpenes? What are sesquiterpenes you ask? Well, sesquiterpenes stimulate and oxygenate the pineal gland in the limbic system of brain and can help to elevate your mood and reduce stress. Use of these essential oils can lead to a happy, relaxed state of mind.

Take Five to Get High

All it takes is five minutes, an essential oil and your breathe to heighten your mood:

  1. Choose and essential oil that you would like to work with. If you don’t have one of the oils we suggested just use one that smells good to you.
  2. Choose a quiet place to sit and take a few deep breaths.
  3. Drop a couple drops of essential oil in your non dominant hand. Make a peace sign with your dominate hand and swirl the essential oil in clockwise circle three times. This will awaken the aroma of the oil.
  4. Close your eyes, lift your hands to your nose, inhale the essence deeply and then exhale fully. Continue in this way for a minute or two.
  5. Release your hands to your lap and sit quietly with your eyes closed for just a few more moments. Take a moment to reflect on a few things you are grateful for and with a smile on your face return to your day in a happy way!
